McGregor Public School
2024-2025 Safe and Inclusive School Plan
Our school is committed to providing all students with a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment free from bullying and harassment that promotes respect, acceptance, and empathy.
Staff, students, parents and caregivers, and community partners will work together as a team to help make our school safe and welcoming for everyone.
The Safe and Inclusive School Plan highlights some of the key actions that our school community will put in place as part of our bullying prevention and intervention efforts.
Key Priorities and Goals
This year we are focusing on treating each other with kindness and respect with an emphasis on accepting each other for both our similarities and our differences.
We are doing this because here at McGregor Public School, we want to build a learning environment where everyone belongs and feels like a part of the Mustang family.
Key Actions or Strategies
1. Building community using our school wide assemblies and celebrations.
2. Providing the students with strategies to navigate their feelings and simple conflicts (WITS).
3. Engaging the caregiver community with resources and supports that align with the needs of our school community.
Community and Home Connections
- Ask your child about what strategies we use as a school community to navigate conflict (WITS,
4 Legs of the Mustang and Growth Mindset lessons).
- Try identifying when your student used used their WITS strategies (walk away, ignore, talk it out, seek
assistance) at home.
- Check out this resource Mental Health and Well-being about strategies and resources to
support your child.
